In the Science ⋈ Technology ⋈ Society (Kontextlehre WTG) program, members of the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology, together with external lecturers, offer various workshops and seminars. You can get the assigned modules accredited in almost all TUM study programs as Transferable Skills Training or Extradisciplinary Fundamentals electives or take them as extra curricular courses.
What are the social, cultural and political circumstances of science and technology? What are their philosophical foundation and historical conditions? How does digitalization or automation change labor, industry, and life? What challenges and opportunities do experts see in the intersection between science, technology and society? For example in science communication and science management or in the assessment of technological impact and in ethics?
In each subject you will find courses with a special focus on:
- Foundational knowledge: Introdutions and overviews,
- Practical knowledge: In-depth explorations of topics and areas of application,
- Expertise knowledge: Work methods and techniques.
In principle, we reocmmend not taking practical and expertise knowledge without the foundational knowledge courses.
These courses are offered at least once a year.
