What is "Science & Technology" about?

In a world that is growing more and more complex, the demand arises for interdisciplinary knowledge that unravels the historical foundations of the present and creates awareness for the challenges of the future. The knowledge of various disciplines has to be brought together in order to comprehend the dynamics of an ever stronger entanglement between technology and society.

Students will acquire foundational knowledge of epistemology and philosophy of science that can help them understand the theoretica basis of their field of study and examine its relevance through concrete examples in interdisciplinary dialogue. In addition, they will learn about overarching (societal) analyses prompted by findings and developments in their fields (e.g., the digital society) and discuss their significance and validity.
