We are happy to invite you to our next EdTech Event on April 1st, 2025. Prof. Dr. Alexander Pretschner will be presenting TUMTutor: https://tumtutor.ai/
Alexander Pretschner is a Professor of Software & Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the spokesperson for the Board of Directors of the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt), and the Scientific Director of the Research and Transfer Institute of the Free State of Bavaria for Software-Intensive Systems (fortiss).
On Tuesday April 1st, 1.00 to 2.30 pm, in room 604 at Marsstraße 20, Prof. Pretschner will give a talk on TUMTutor and its features, followed by insights about the current use of the tool at TUM.
The TUMTutor system allows students to ‘talk’ to a lecture anonymously and be ‘quizzed’ by the lecture. Lecturers can see which questions and groups of questions are asked and can thus immediately respond to obviously difficult or misunderstood learning content. Originally created as part of a software development project at TUM and then further developed by five students, it was launched at TUM in mid-November and now has >3000 users who have answered >100,000 quizzes and conducted >50,000 chat interactions. An effectiveness evaluation is to follow in March. For this reason, the accompanying research project AIffectiviness will be launched under the leadership of the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation, in which the effectiveness of selected courses (5-10 per institution) will be analysed with four HAWs, four universities and the Bavarian Virtual University (vhb).
