Dr. Cansu Güner has received the prestigious "Freunde der TUM" Award in recognition of her exceptional doctoral dissertation. The award was presented by Dr. Joachim Post, Chairman of the Board of Freunde der TUM and member of the Board of BMW AG. Prof. Thomas Hofmann, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Freunde der TUM and President of TUM, also attended the award ceremony.
The "Freunde der TUM" Award, valued at 1,500 euros, was presented on Friday, December 6, 2024, for Dr. Güner's doctoral dissertation titled “The Mutual Shaping of Gender and Entrepreneurship in Co-Living Spaces”. This groundbreaking work examines the mutual shaping of gender and entrepreneurship in co-living spaces, a contemporary living and working arrangement prevalent in tech hubs. Her research is based on a comparative ethnographic study conducted in the Bay Area and Munich.
