The Examination Board oversees the administration of examinations and is responsible for making all related decisions, except where the APSO and FPSO assign this responsibility to the examiners. A student representative is invited to participate in the public portion of the Board’s semi-annual meetings.
The meetings for each semester take place shortly after grades have been finalized. They are typically held at the beginning or middle of May and at the beginning or middle of November to ensure that decisions can be made in a timely manner.
Topics to address the Examination Board for:
- Conflicts with the study progress control (application for the extension or suspension of the credit requirements)
- Violation of rules and regulations
- Disability accommodation
The current contact person and secretary of the Examination Board is Enkeleda Thaqi (ais[at]sot.tum.de)

- More Tips & Tricks
After thesis submission / Graduation
- The graduation date (certificate date) is the date of the last successfully completed examination and coursework.
- As soon as your final examination result has been entered in TUMonline, please carefully check all relevant details (e.g. thesis title, personal data).
After approval by the school, your graduation documents will be prepared by the Graduation Office and Academic Records of the TUM Center for Study and Teaching.
- Please note that it takes approximately 4–6 weeks for the graduation documents to be issued.
In the meantime, a preliminary certificate can be downloaded from your TUMonline account once it becomes available. You will receive an automatic email notification.
Enrollment requirements
You must remain enrolled until you have completed your final examination.
If the Master’s thesis is your last examination, enrollment is mandatory until submission (the submission date then becomes the graduation date). This also applies if the thesis deadline is extended for reasons beyond your control. For all other examinations, re-enrollment is not required if the (retake) examination is assigned to the previous semester and taken no later than the first week of the lecture period.
Disenrollment
Disenrollment occurs automatically at the end of the semester once the final graduation documents have been issued.
Please consult the TUM website for further details:
