Objectives

By the end of the course, you are expected to be able to - identify the role of psychological factors in writing and reading. - recognize the needs of different audiences. - show sensitivity to usability demands. - analyze technical documents and locate features of best-practice writing. - organize and manage your own writing projects. - formulate strong arguments. - apply different revising strategies. - produce understandable technical documents using conventions of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Learn to write TUM (Technical, Understandable, Manageable) documents. This course will focus on the fundamentals of text manufacturing: materials, processes, designs, assembly methods, quality management, and performance monitoring.

Teaching and learning methods

The workshop uses cooperative learning methods like discussions, small group work, peer review, some direct instruction, and the independent work of the students.
